This class identifies the significant changes to the Commercial Provisions of 2021 edition of the International Energy Conservation Code® (IECC®). The three-part presentation reviews changes to the Envelope, Mechanical, and Lighting provisions. Includes a brief review of residential multifamily construction, taller than 3 stories. The seminar will assist code officials, plans examiners, inspectors, contractors, design professionals, and others involved in building energy efficiency, by identifying the specific code changes that have occurred and understanding the reasoning behind the changes.

On this tour, you will visit the AMSCO Windows Facility to see how tempered glass is made. Activities will include watching and learning about the production of insulated glass (IG unit), watching the facility robotics clean the vinyl, and, time permitting, a tour of the new paint booth. You’ll also learn how windows are combined and visit the testing facility. Before building this facility, all finished windows and doors had to be shipped to third-party validators. The tour will also go over how AMSCO identifies the DP rating and what that means.
